Rap artist T.I. and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle have been arrested on drug charges in West Hollywood. The rapper is still on parole, and has done a number of television specials about how he is a “changed man.” After being released from prison earlier in the year, you would think that he would want to avoid being around that type of behavior. The substances he was caught with included marijuana, sizzurp and ecstasy. The Grammy winner has not released a statement on the subject, and it is not currently clear who was in possession of the drugs when they were found.
Officials have yet to file charges on the couple. It is assumed that this incident would constitute a violation of parole, and could potentially send T.I back to prison, although some experts have stated that they believe T.I may be asked to enter a rehab clinic.
Atlantic Records, T.I’s record label, said that they will not be commenting on the matter until the official investigation is complete. With an album on the way, it now appears that there is a chance that TI may not be free to see the release. His newest single “Hold Me Down,” has performed well on the Billboard charts and fans were excited to see what he had in store.
Upon release TI was asked to not commit another crime, be it federal, state or local. He is currently on supervised release and has to visit his parole officer regularly. Their next conversation will likely be an awkward one.
