I opened up my  cable bill recently to find that the charges had gone up to $200 a month. That is for internet and cable. I don’t get anything special on my cable. I do not get HBO or Stars or anything. Just normal cable. Half the time it blinks out on me with some sort of power problem. Usually comes back on in a few seconds. My internet is a different story. My internet is terrible. Every 20 minutes or so I have to go back to the main room and reset everything. I am always refreshing the modem that my cable company gave me to refresh the server. It is a nightmare. I spend more time offline then I do online. Yet now they were chargin me $200 a month? I started looking around really fast.

I knew that I was probably going to have to this in seperate bundles now. I was okay with this if I could save some money. I started with TV and this was enough to convince me I had been doing the wrong thing for a really long time. I quickly came across Direct TV by DirectSatTV. I was kind of weary because I do not like change but once I started clicking everything became super easy.

The first thing I did was get a quote on the Direct TV Packages by DirectSatTV. This was so easy. I was able to pick what I wanted with no add ons that I did not want. From there I clicked a few more buttons and had a free system headed my way. All of this for only $35.00 a month. I was so relieved. I seriously thought I was going to have to take on more work to pay for TV.

One word of warning though, make sure that you  check out the government dish rules before installing. Just to make sure everything is up to code!

Remember this quote from You’ve Got Mail? I love that movie! I realize there’s a down side to this perspective, but I want to talk about the up side for just a moment.

Women are such emotional creatures. We feel EVERYTHING. I think that’s one of our best qualities, but sometimes it can effect our judgement when developing our home business. You might know what I’m talking about if you’ve been working your warm market. You DREAD calling them and if they say No to your request/opportunity/appointment/whatever, then your feelings get hurt (especially if it was a friend). Somehow it makes it that much harder to call the next person, and the next….and then somehow you’re not accomplishing the dreams you had in your heart when you started this business anyway.

It is business

1) Don’t wear your feelings on your sleeve. Your friends or family members aren’t rejecting YOU, they just aren’t interested in being your customer or business partner. Don’t dwell on hurt feelings or getting offended. Tell yourself (nicely) Self, get over it!

2) What would Gregg Steinhafel (CEO of Target – one of my favorite
stores) do? If you were the head of some big corporation like Target, how would you run yourbusiness? Would you use a different strategy if something wasn’t working? Would step back and evaluate from time to time so that your efforts could be most effective? Probably. Would you sulk and whine and stop trying because you ran into some tangles? Probably not.

It’s not personal, it’s business.

If your efforts have been failing, then instead of allowing discouragement or frustration get your goat (love that expression….but what the heck does it mean?)! Push through and call a company-wide strategy session with yourself…pull out the dry mark board, charts, spreadsheets and fancy Mont Blanc pens and get to work. For help with new marketing strategies, check out my blog!

Listen Momma. You can do this! You brought a child into the world. You invented the term ‘multi-tasking.’ You deserve to have a thriving homebusiness that enables you to be at home with your little gems. Go for it!

These days knowing how to protect yourself is not an option. It is a requirement for getting through life. Whether you are going to the grocery store or going for a run there is no telling when you might be the next victim of some crazy low life the county jail didn’t have room for yesterday.

Learning how to protect yourself is not just about self-defense. Sometimes you might not have time for self-defense in terms of kicking or hitting. Many times you need something to bring down your attacker. This is where pepper spray or mace is an important tool to have at your disposal. Some people ay disagree and say that this is only going to make your attacker angrier, but I would say your attacker is already angry. Go for the gusto.

WHen choosing a pepper spray look for one that has a 2-10 percent solution. In this case less really is more.  A 2-10 percent solution penetrates faster and is proven to be effective against even those who are immune to many things like alcoholics and drug abusers.

Of course if you really want to go all out and you know you could handle it, a stun gun is the ultimate of options in safety other than a gun. You will not have to worry about you attacker being immune to these, but you will have to make sure they are powered up and that you do not loose control.

There are so many things that are a lot simpler now because of the convenience of the internet. Looking for a new house to buy is just one of them. Making any big purchase is stressful. Buying a house has many steps and it makes the whole process so much smoother when you can take the time that you need to look and research with a mobile broadband connection.

There is some debate as to what your first step would be. You can secure financing initially or wait on that until the perfect house appears. Depending on what is going on in the market, you will want to go either way. It is always a safe bet to get preapproved. That is something that will matter a lot if you find a house that you want and you are scared of someone else buying it first.

It is much easier to buy our new home while shopping on line than it is to go from house to house checking out other people’s open houses. Face it, they are uncomfortable having you walk through their homes and you probably are uncomfortable as well. Isn’t it a lot easier to take a tour over the Internet while you are in your own home and don’t have some person and their spouse trying to sell you something they are trying to get rid of?

You definitely can’t do everything that is necessary to buy a house online. There are many steps that can be done without a Realtor looking over your shoulder. You can find out what the schools are that your kids will go to if you live there and even get tours of the home you are checking out on You-tube. It makes it easier to narrow down your choices before involving a Realtor. All possible because you can get online at your leisure with wireless internet.

If you have wireless broadband it is so easy to look for a new home. Affordable wireless internetmakes shopping for anything much more enjoyable
